Last Roll Out by ~Grouper

~Grouper captures the Space Shuttle Atlantis, with its giant shadow reflected on an even larger building, slowly making its way out of the hanger. This night picture is crisp and clear, but more importantly, it marks the last great shuttle launch of the United States, which will be July 8, 2011. The Space Shuttle Atlantis will mark an end to an advanced era of history. NASAŠ has been running the Space Shuttle Program since April 21,1981, marking 30-years of Space Shuttle Missions, and a career of launches that go back to the later 1960s. It's a shame the Shuttle launches are coming to an end, hopefully they'll have a replacement up & running soon.

Awesome pic, thanks for sharing...

I'm driving down to Cape Canaveral tomorrow to see the launch! It's such a shame that Obama ended the shuttle program, but it's a great honor for me to be able to see a launch. Great shot!

The space shuttle was supposed to open up new doorways. It's so sad to see it go. I hope that it's successor will be used at least by the time of my grandchildren...

Wonderful pic. I'm glad you were able to be there. Thanks for a great picture to remember her by. It is a very sad moment for those of us who truly believe in manned spaceflight. (I wanted nothing more growing up to be an astronaut. Still do actually. Unfortunately. I was cursed with myopia.)

watched the rollout live on NasaTV, was a wonderful moment, I am truly gutted I will never get to see one launch. This is a wonderful capture, and I love the hazyness around the crawler, SRB's, External tank and Orbiter. I don't remember if it was raining that night or not.

Anyway, congrats on the DD
